Gameplay
Secret of the Mimic is a deep immersive exploration set in the oppressive environment of the abandoned Murray Suits estate. This location was previously a manufacturing workshop, and today it is a complex, multi-level space. This space is a tangled labyrinth full of unresolved mysteries that require you as an explorer to study it step by step and thoughtfully.
The central task is to reconstruct the chronology of events related to the activities of a solitary but brilliant inventor. His scientific research, carried out in complete isolation, led to the creation of something uncontrollable and posing a direct threat. Gradually moving deeper into the estate, you will have to shed light on the true nature of these experiments and their fatal consequences.
The key tool for generating tension is the game environment itself. The mechanics of building up fear are based not on direct confrontations, but on indirect factors – unstable lighting, sudden acoustic effects and, most importantly, on the all-pervasive feeling of invisible surveillance. Be prepared for a state of permanent psychological vulnerability, because there are no safe places or shelters here!
Progress in exploring this world directly depends on cognitive abilities. The gameplay requires extreme concentration, the use of logical analysis skills and the ability to interpret incomplete information. The scraps of official documentation encountered along the way contain intentional gaps and are censored. You must independently fill in information gaps, build hypotheses and, in essence, become a co-author of the unfolding story.
