A Way Out is at the top of the co-op adventure game scene. It’s here that you get the unique opportunity to overcome obstacles together as prisoners. This project from Hazelight Studios makes the most of the game’s single-screen capabilities, sharing it between participants. In this format, you need to demonstrate real teamwork, honing your interactions and attention to your partner.
Unlike the studio’s previous work, this project immerses you in a realistic world full of dangers, where the main task is to escape from prison together. The main emphasis in the game was on the inseparable team bond, without which achieving freedom is impossible. You will have to try hard to overcome all your goals and achieve a positive ending.
The game’s plot centers on two main characters with very different life paths and personalities. An unexpected twist of fate brings them together in prison, where they are forced to join forces to achieve a common goal. Leo, who cares about his family, ended up in prison for illegal import operations, while Vincent, known for his ruthless character, was convicted of a crime he may not have even committed.
As the story progresses, it becomes clear that the same person is behind their imprisonment, and now the newly-minted allies are eager to seize the chance for revenge. In order for the path to freedom to become a reality, they must demonstrate coordination and mutual assistance. A clear example is the situation when, in order to carry out an escape plan, one player needs to distract attention, while the second secretly works out a route to freedom.
